will kick off a campaign tuesday to promote the benefits of the affordable care act. the white house issued new figures showing that healthcare.gov is running smoothly. the website will be tested in the next three weeks as americans race to beat the insurance sign-up deadline. al jazeera's mike viqueira has more from washington. >> there is good new and bad news when it comes to the beleaguered website healthcare.gov. a largely lost two months, and now many of problems are fix, and not a moment too soon. some statistics they came out with. on october 1st they set a total of six individuals successfully logged on and enrolled for health insurance under the affordable care act. the error rate was 6%. now as of november 30th - that was the target date, the error rate is less than 1%. now up to 800,000 individuals can log on to the website in any given day - 50,000 at one time. still, many of the problems persist. first, there are questions about security. the data of enrollees, folks that log on, personal information, security on the website not what it should be. now, something else has emerg

people. thousands of customers are testing the system. the affordable care act wins has been plagued by problems since it's october is launch. people looking for insurance coverage only have three weeks to sign up. mike viqueira joins us from the white house with more. how is the website doing today? >> they say they have a lot of problems fixed, and you're right, john, it's not a moment too soon. october 1st it came out. they had a 6% error rate. that doesn't sound a lot to me. but evidently that is astro notcal, and it is evidenced by the fact that they had six people sign up on the first day on october 1st. it's been a disaster. a catastrophe, a debacle, all the words used by administration officials. but they have that error rate down 1%. not good enough but better than it has been. 800,000 people can log on a in a single day and 50,000 at a time. and they had to go to a queuing system where if you log on, and i tried to do this as did countless others reporters here in washington. you saw a screen that said wait, here is other information you might need. you can leave us your e-

hour, a source familiar with the enrollment numbers for the affordable care act confirmed to cnn they have enrolled about 29,000 people in the first two days since the website was deemed to be working for the vast majority of americans. so since december 1st, the first two days, 29,000 people enrolled more than the entire month of october. so people inside the administration are starting to feel more confident about that, and as you heard, at the tail end of the president's remarks in the speech here in washington, he went after republicans on obama care challenging them on these ideas of repeal and saying that republicans owe it to the american people to tell them what they're for when it comes to health care reform, not just being against the affordable care act. a couple things going on in the president's speech, rallying the base, also going after republicans laying markers down for the budget battles to come. >> that issue is becoming more and more talked about, income inequality, wealth disparity if you like, which is very marked in the united states. is there a sense in wa
